Creativity runs in the family

Like mother, like daughter — or so it goes. I’m proud to announce that my mom and I will be having a booth at the Christmas Craft Fair this year! Her creative venture with textiles, Red Cove Studios and my business, Wendy Shirran Ceramic Art, will be presenting collaborative pieces made by two Shirran ladies!

My mom’s felted handbags will feature porcelain accent buttons, handmade by me. It’s exciting to get to work together like this. She’ll have her knitting, felting and other textile work on display and I’ll have my own ceramic works available as well.

I’m working on a variety of teapots, ceramic cups and pendants (among other things!) and will be posting the progress shots below. I’ll also include some of my mom’s work, and our collaborative pieces, too.

Textile accessory pins to brighten up your outfit! My mom makes these precious, finely knit flowers of all types and colours. I get a lot of compliments on this one!

Come check us out as you check off your Christmas shopping list — the Fair runs November 14-18 and our booth will appear November 16-17 only.  Don’t miss us! We’ll be at booth #102.

Drop by the Arts & Culture Centre in St. John’s and see all the talented craftspeople showcased in the biggest craft event of the year.

Shop local and support fine craft makers in this province! And come say hello and have a chat with me!
